So I've mentioned this a bit before, but it's really worrying me. My dog will, most of the time, be able to see just fine. However, every week or two, she'll just randomly seem to be completely blind. Her eyes turn totally gray and get very cloudy, and she opens them really wide. She won't flinch if you wave your hand in front of her, and she doesn't know where anything this. (she even ran into a door one time she was like this >_>) But then like the next day she'll be just fine again, so the vet seems to think nothing's wrong, even though there is OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING wrong. It's just annoying and I'm worried about my dog...

Re: My Dog's Blindness
If she's happy that's all that matters. I guess the vet won't tell you what's wrong though sadly since your dog is older.

^That last sentence made no sense...
It could be a disorder Zero.
The best would be to take her to the vet next time it happens, immediately.

Re: My Dog's Blindness
At first it sounded to me like your dog might be suffering from cataracts; but doing a quick google search on it I think she might have an un-diagnosed case of nuclear sclerosis instead. When your dog starts to get the way you described; take her immediately to the vet. I'm sort of wondering if your dog is fine by the time you get her to the vet so the vet doesn't see what you do when she starts to act the way you've described.
I hope that your dog gets diagnosed soon so that she can start receiving the right kind of treatment for her condition. :/

Re: My Dog's Blindness
^ Interesting to note that she WAS diagnosed with cataracts a year or so ago, but after taking her to the vet slightly later, they said that was an incorrect diagnosis and she doesn't have it. So you obviously must be right about it being nuclear sclerosis, thanks! I'll have to see if I can take her to the vet soon, but it probably can't be until the weekend. >_>
@Gameguy
Yeah, it's annoying.
@Luma
If I could I would, but it's hard to be able to go to the vet immediately as it happens, and she goes back to being able to see fairly well soon after it happens.
