Kirby: Battle Royale

A new Kirby action game with multiplayer will be released this holiday season on Nintendo 3DS. We know no other info.

I wish if they were announcing this now that they would have at least shown some sort of teaser trailer, just learning about its existence is kinda boring. But it's awesome that we're getting a new Kirby game, I've loved the other 2 games on 3DS so I'm hoping it's just as great.

I really hope this is not like Triforce Heroes where the whole game has to be played online only for the connection to suck.

For some reason the first thing I thought of for a multiplayer Kirby game was Kirby Air Ride of all things - maybe a permanent City Trial? (wishful thinking here)

They've already done Fighters and Team Clash in DX form so it'd better be something different to those

^ That would be cool but I don't expect to see it happen at all, especially without Sakurai there. I honestly think it'll be something more like a standard Kirby game with multiplayer, similar to Return to Dream Land. I could be way off but the way they announced it makes it seem that way to me, and they already have the engine up and running on 3DS from the past two games.

Mm I would feel just a little disappointed if they went main game again I feel, but hey the last two main titles have been pleasant surprises and HAL have that modern magic, who knows?

The 3DS Kirby game is still coming this winter and it's different from Kirby for Nintendo Switch.

This 3DS game is the fighting game if you ask me and I guess Nintendo did not want to show until after ARMS came out.

They had definitely mentioned it being a multiplayer action game, so the fact that it's a fighting game does make sense. I just feel like it's odd that they're releasing that now, it seems like the literal worst timing. I think they should've done something like this around when Triple Deluxe released and they had that Kirby Fighters Deluxe game on the eShop. They could've just made it bigger. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

This looks AWESOME. I'm a little disappointed about the slight delay but I was expecting a more traditional fighting game based on the details we were getting before. This looks a lot more interesting and like it would be a whole lot of fun in multiplayer. Especially given that there's online play too.

I was expecting it to be a game where you play as many different Kirby characters. This game looks pretty nice though and it having online will add to replay value.

Hopefully the online is stable, really hoping it is cuz this does look like it'll be fun to play.

Hoping to use 3D in Kirby: Battle Royale. Turns out you won't be able to use it all much like Superstar Saga.



It seems like Nintendo has given up on 3D outside of Samus Returns. I'm also fine with it not being in if it's just going to slow things down like the Pokemon games.

As someone who HAS always at least tried out the 3D effect for every game on 3DS, it's honestly really disappointing to see them phasing it out on games that are still being made for the system. There was a point early on where it wasn't used very well, then games started making great use of it or looked beautiful when it was used. And now it's back to being used either not well or not at all. I get that 3D isn't a big thing anymore and probably isn't gonna be a major feature in the future, if one at all, with Nintendo consoles. (as we see with Switch) But since it was the main driving point of the 3DS to begin with it kinda sucks to see all these later releases not making use of probably one of the last times they'll be able to use a really cool effect.
